Action Genre

PORTFOLIO PROJECT

Action Genre

The action genre is all about conflicts between sides. They center on a protagonist who must rise above terrible odds, vanquish evil powers, and possibly even save the planet. Having said that, these tales don't always feature superheroes. In reality, the main character in an action story is typically someone who is like us but distinct in some other way. They are unusual or special in some way, and as a result, the rest of society frequently misunderstands them. And it is because of this that this genre is so relatable. We've all suffered from the plague of feeling different or misunderstood, even if we lack magical abilities, exceptional skills, or an unyielding faith in a particular mission or destiny. Action stories come into play in this situation.

An action movie's plot typically includes a number of action scenes and sequences. Usually, these can be divided into chase scenes and fight scenes. Chase scenes may be filmed in several locations, on various vehicles, or on foot. The same can be said about fight sequences, which can be quite organized and sophisticated. They can be challenging to film as well.

Some examples are:

Fast And Furious: The film contains many fight scenes and chases

John Wick: The series of movies have many brutal scenes, essential to an action movie

Bullet Train: Combination of action genre and comedy

For my Cambridge Portfolio Project, I will be working with the action genre. I've always loved these types of movies. I believe that It will also be a really fun and challenging project to work on. The story that came to mind will surround two police officers who will both take the role of the protagonist in taking down a dangerous mob.
