MUSIC IN ACTION MOVIES
Today I researched the effects of sounds in movies. I used the websites Frontiers and The Orion for my research. The music used in movies is there to amplify the effect and reaction the audience gets from the movie itself. If someone is watching a sad scene of a movie, there is generally going to be a deep and sad soundtrack playing in the background subtle enough for the audience not to notice it but at the same time take effect from it. The soundtracks in movies are there to get a reaction from the audience and for them to feel more connected to the scene. This is a phycological effect since the audience is not aware of the effect that a simple tune is having on them. Music in action movies typically has a fast beat and is there to build suspense, anticipation, and excitement for the audience. Some commonly used music tracks in action movies are:
a.
“The Man Comes Around”-
Johnny Cash – “Logan”
b.
“Hello Vietnam” –
Johnny Wright – “Full Metal Jacket”
